I found the way movie industries fought with the peak of TV was interesting. Their tactics were clever. Movies used gimmicks and elaborate sets to outdo the TV industry. TV couldn't afford to use all of these things. There's also a lot things people can experience in movie theaters that they can't at home. There were sensory and cultural experiences. Most people don't go to the theater without other people. There's also a big screen with big speakers. It's very overwhelming.
